The Miracle Ride figures are not all in but it appears to have a profit of $280,000. There was an accident after the ride when a rider was on his way home. The accident appears to have gotten more media focus than the event. Rod Taylor stated that another rider was involved in an accident on his way to the ride. Gubernatorial candidate Mitch Daniels rode in the Miracle Ride.

BMV has 17 test sights throughout Indiana for taking the motorcycle skills test. If you hear of a problem with this please let us know so we can address this with the new administration for the BMV.

State Motorcycle Safety Administrators conference is in Charlotte NC August 20-22.

Meeting of the Minds 20th Anniversary is in St. Louis this year, September 24-26. The Motorcycle Riders Foundation will be having a panel discussion concerning rider's education. Instructors and those interested in rider's education are encouraged to attend.

ITEM # 5 - Event T-shirts are now going through the office. This includes Boogie crew shirts. Debbie continues to handle products.

ITEM # 6 - Chuc Hunter stated that what is printed in the newsletter under heading of "LINC Update" is not what the LINC reps should be bringing to the meetings. The title of the article will be changing to "A Brotherhood against Totalitarian Enactments". LINC will be having a gathering at the Boogie on Thursday, 4:00, at the motor sports area. Chuc encouraged everyone to watch their local government issues and activate/set up a phone tree.

Off road vehicle registration is still an issue that needs to be addressed in the upcoming Legislative session.

ITEM #7- AMA Justice for All campaign-AMA is requesting support from SMRO's.
The campaign comes from incidents such as the Janklow case. Discussion followed.

ITEM #8 - LCRP is under excavation to improve some of our roads. One of the road improvements is to place stone from the gate back to the hill, improve the hill, and connect the two hills in the bottoms.

Street signs have been made and donated by Camp Scooter Trash. They will be in place prior to the Boogie.

A new dump station has been installed in the camp ground.

Boogie advertisements have been issued with several entities such as Steel Horse TV, Mid West Motorcyclist.

ITEM # 9 - Old Business: Jay has talked to Marc about getting membership on a disc for region directors. Marc stated several issues with this. Region directors were advised to contact Marc if you really want to pursue this.

The May agency has expressed an interest in offering an Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy to ABATE members. We appreciate the interest from American Income Life to provide us with this benefit; however, since May is our current insurance program, we need to let them respond.

ITEM # 10 - The "Discover Midwest Motorcycling" calendars that we sell each year will probably be dropped by Michael Farabaugh next year. He has approached us to see if we would like to take it on. Discussion followed. A committee was formed to look into this. Committee member's are: Tina McCormack, Dirty Jeff, Carol Poe, Putt, and Rod Taylor.

Jay stated that we still have a relationship with Bill Monroe's Campground. They have approached us to sponsor the kid's workshop for their Blue Grass festival. The board did not express an interest in perusing this.

ABATE has been approached by a gentleman that has a Harley-Davidson safe. He would like for ABATE to raffle this off for him. The board stated they would not want to get involved in this.

Flyer request will be submitted to the directors before being produced.

Meeting minutes have been posted on the website.

Scooter issues are being targeted by the media. A request for a skateboard helmet law has been addressed because of a child in Region 6 being involved in a fatal accident while riding his skateboard and being pulled by a scooter.
